Corrections Policy
Last updated: July 2026
If something on this site is wrong, tell us and it gets fixed. Mortgage information affects real money and real decisions, so an error here is not a typo — it is something someone might act on. Corrections are made openly rather than edited away.
How to report an error
Call (437) 961-0004 or email garrysidhu@akal.ca. Tell us the page and what looks wrong. You do not need to be certain — a question is enough, and "this doesn't match what my bank told me" is a perfectly good reason to flag something.
What happens next
- Anything involving a rate, a payment figure or a qualifying rule is checked the same day and corrected immediately if wrong. Those are the errors that can change a decision.
- Other factual errors are reviewed and corrected promptly, normally within a few working days.
- If you gave us contact details, we tell you what we found — including when we conclude the original was right, and why.
How corrections are marked
- Substantive corrections — a figure, a rule, or anything that changes the meaning of the advice — get a dated correction note on the page saying what was wrong and what it now says. The error is not deleted silently.
- Routine updates, such as a weekly rate refresh or a rule change taking effect, are not corrections. Those pages carry a visible "last reviewed" date instead.
- Typos, broken links and formatting are simply fixed, with no note.
Pages we deliberately do not rewrite
Dated market commentary keeps its original date and wording, even once the outlook has changed. Rewriting old analysis so it appears to have been right would misrepresent what was known when it was written. Those articles carry an "as of" date so you can judge them in context.
If we got it wrong in a conversation
This policy covers the website. If something Garry Sidhu told you directly does not match your file or your lender's paperwork, raise it straight away — the paperwork governs, and it is far better to catch a misunderstanding before closing than after.
Complaints beyond a correction
Garry Sidhu is licensed and regulated by FSRA (Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario). If you have a concern this page does not resolve, you may raise it with Akal Mortgages Inc. (FSRA Brokerage Licence #10845) or with FSRA directly. We would rather hear from you first and put it right.
